Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method which can reduce a time for forming a container by easily forming it very thin. SOLUTION: Kneaded earth is formed into a circular container shape on a spinning table which contains water equal to a weight ratio of 12 to 18% the whole weight. An end 4a of a cylindrical rod-like member having a diameter of 1 to 3 mm and a length of 50 to 150 mm is shapened to form a scraper. The end 4a of the scraper so formed is brought into abutment with a mouth edge of the container and the scraper is then lowered to slide along the circumferential wall 6 of the container while the spinning table is kept rotating so as to scrape the circumferential wall 6 of the container to thereby thin it.
