Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the layout area of a semiconductor memory device of a split word driver system by using the output of the main word driver for redundancy, in each block constituted with a memory array as a unit, also as a block selecting signal indicating the selective activation in a block unit. SOLUTION: A block selected-circuit BSL inputs a redundancy main word signal RMWL' making an internal booster voltage a high level, and outputs it as a block selecting signal making a power source voltage a high level. A data amplifier is selectively activated corresponding to each block selecting signal, amplifying and outputting the data in a block unit. As a result, since each circuit constituted in block units such as a data amplifier is selectively activated, there is no need to lay out internal address signal wiring corresponding to an input address signal; therefore, the layout area can be reduced.
