HOUSING DEVICE FOR LINEAR OPTICAL FIBER AMPLIFIER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a LOFA circuit from damage caused by vibration or shock. SOLUTION: The device for housing linear optical fiber amplifier(LOFA) circuit 6 contains a main body member 14 in which a cavity for housing components of the LOFA circuit 6 including a distribution compensation fiber(DCF) reel 15. The housing device also contains mutually opposed arched members around which an optical fiber connecting components of the LOFA circuit 6 is wound in a ring form. A holding ring which is engaged in the first and second arched members and is supported by at least one surface formed on the main body member 14 can be used for separating respective fibers from other fibers, providing an organization and preventing entanglement of the optical fibers. A reel container member houses and holds an active fiber(AF) reel of the LOFA circuit 6. The reel container member can be arranged between the arched members so as to be held therebetween. The main body member 14 can be engaged in a case.
