Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound muffling device for a combustion apparatus which can be installed in a prior art smoke-discharging passage and has a high effect of reducing noisy sound. SOLUTION: A sound muffling cylinder 6 is filled with sound absorbing material 60 in its inner side. The sound muffling cylinder is arranged to pass through the sound absorbing material 60. An upper gas discharging port 7 and a lower gas discharging complex 5 are provided with a gas discharging passage 61 at which upper end and lower end are communicated. A resonance chamber 9 formed as a blind hole extending substantially in parallel with the gas discharging passage 61 is formed in the sound absorbing material 60. The resonance chamber 9 is formed of a punching metal 11 and its lower end has a punched resonance hole 10 communicated with the discharged gas complex 5.
