PREVENTIVE/THERAPEUTIC AGENT FOR ALLERGIC DISEASE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a medicine capable of inhibiting interleukin production and enhancing interferon production, thus capable of preventing/treating allergic diseases, by including Artemisia capillaris Thumberg or an extract therefrom. SOLUTION: This medicine contains Artemisia capillaris Thumberg prepared by drying or grinding the flowers/heads or seedlings of Chrysanthemum Pallasianum, or an extract from the above plant. The amount of the plant or the extract therefrom to be formulated in this medicine is 0.00001-100 wt.% in terms of the solid content of the extract, and the daily dose of the plant or extract 0.0002-0.5 g/kg/adult in terms of the solid content of the extract. The above plant (extract) is highly safe, slight in side effects, and administrable in any way, i.e., internally or externally, and having especially excellent effect on allergic inflammations.
