Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll machine capable of improving the treating quality of a material sheet surface with a minimized production cost and useful for calendering, etc., by coating a very thin layer of an elastic material on a periphery of a roll body in the radius direction. SOLUTION: This roll machine having a roll 3 forming one or more roll distances between the roll and the partner roll, and having an elastic layer 7 coated on the roll body 8 is constituted so that the layer 7 may have very thin thickness in the radius direction. The roll 3 has a surface elasticity at a local region by the layer 7 but shows substantially same properties as a roll body 8 formed out of a steel or a cast as the elasticity in a macroscopic region.
