Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost emergency discharge lamp lighting device using a low-cost voltage detection circuit. SOLUTION: A lighting device is provided with a push-pull type oscillation circuit 10 and the like. The lighting device is provided with an emergency discharge lamp 16, which is lighted by receiving the output of an oscillation transformer 15 attached to the push-pull type oscillation circuit 10 and the like. The lighting device is provided with a voltage detection circuit 5, detecting the peak value of a transformer 15 primary side coil voltage. The lighting device is provided with a protection means 9 and the like which shift a mode to a protection lighting mode, when the peak value detected by the voltage detection circuit 5 exceeds a limiting value.
