Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the resin for forming the electrophotographic photoreceptor having sufficient mechanical characteristics and high solubility in non- halogenated solvents by using a specified polyarylate resin as a binder resin. SOLUTION: The resin for the electrophotographic photoreceptor contains the polyarylate resin represented by the formula in which R is a 1-4C alkyl group; each of R -R is, independently, an H atom or a 1-4C alkyl group; and m/(m+n) is 0.3-1.0. The reason why the m/(m+n) is set in this range is because the solubility in the non-halogenated solvent is extremely excessively when a proportion of terephthalic acid to that of isophthalic acid becomes very high. The photosensitive layer using this resin may be either a dispersion type or laminated type. As the photoconductive material in the case of the dispersion type, a material, such as selenium and its alloys, can be used, and these fine particles and a charge transfer material combined with the polyarylate resin are used. |
