Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer which efficiently operates even in a network environment. SOLUTION: A network/portable computer 18 is provided with a modular bay 20 for holding either a hard drive 22 or a data transceiver 24 for establishing radio network connection. When the network/portable computer 18 exists in a local area covered by a network 10, the data transceiver 24 is attached and the network 10 is used for storing and retrieving data. When using the computer in the distant area where the network connection can not be established. The hard drive 22 is attached to the modular bay 20 and the computer having sufficient characteristics is provided.
