HAIR COSMETIC COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition excellent in emulsion stability, non-tacky and smooth on coating, and giving a wet touch and a lustrous appearance after dried, by including a specific polymer, a higher fatty acid, and a specific surfactant. SOLUTION: This hair cosmetic composition comprises (A) 0.05-20 wt.% of an amineoxide group-containing polymer having a weight-average mol.wt. of 10,000-500,000 and containing structural units based on an amineoxide group- containing monomer of formula I or formula II [R is H, methyl; R -R are each a 1-24c alkyl, etc.,; X is a divalent binding group; (m) is 0-1; (n) is 0-4] and arbitraily structural units based on one or more hydrophobic monomers, (B) 0.05-30 wt.% of a higher fatty acid of the formula: [R is a 7-25c linear or (OH-containing) branched chain (un)saturated hydrocarbon], (C) 0.05-20 wt.% of an amphoteric surfactant such as a compound of formula III [R is a 9-21C alkyl, etc.; (t) is 0-3; (q) is 2-4] and/or a semi-polar surfactant such as a compound of formula IV (R is a 10-18c alkyl, etc.), and, if necessary, (D) an oil, etc.
