Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover slide for a shift lever device capable of preventing light from leaking through an opening, into which a shift lever is inserted, and water from entering therein and excellent in light shielding property and water blocking property. SOLUTION: The cover slide for a shift lever device 24 has a shift lever inserting opening 28 always moving together with the shift lever formed on a body 26. Side walls 36, 38 are extending from the periphery of the back side of the opening 28. The side wall 36 blocks out the opening 28 side from a mark piece 34 side. The side wall 38 maintains the rigidity of the body 26 in the circumference of the opening 28. Thus light applied on the mark piece 34 can be prevented from leaking through a gap between the opening 28 and the shift lever and also water or the like from outside can be prevented from entering the interior and splashing.
