Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which maintains the conventional current characteristic, and has an excellent safety in a short circuit condition. SOLUTION: A separator 5 is a fine porous film of a polyethylene simple substance whose air permeability is 400sec/100cc or more, and 1500sec/100cc or less, or a polyolefin compound fine porous film containing polyethylene, and furthermore, by using a separator whose contraction rate is less than 50% at the blocking temperature where the air permeability is made 100,000sec/100cc, a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which maintains the conventional current characteristic, and has an excellent safety in a short circuit condition, can be obtained.
