TRANSMISSION LINE PROTECTIVE RELAY DEVICE AND FAULT LOCATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To locate the fault point of a transmission line for cost reduction and higher precision with the voltage and current signals of its own power station without having adverse effect of rush current from a mated terminal. SOLUTION: A reclosing advance input condition is used as a condition of fault point locating computation. A protective relay 10 opens the breakers 4, 5 of its own terminal and a mated terminal at the time of accident occurrence (fault point F) by V and I of its own terminal. After the opening operation, the breakers 4, 5 are reclosed after a prescribed time passes. In the reclosing operation, an advance input system is used, which permits the breaker 4 of its own terminal to be inputted previously, and the breaker 5 of the mated terminal to be inputted subsequently. By taking in the V and I within the period from the advance inputting of the breaker 4 to the sequential inputting of the breaker 5, it is possible to conduct fault point locating.
