RADIO RELAY AMPLIFIER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a radio relay amplifier in which possibility of a destroyed power amplifier is precluded even with a digital burst signal and the service life is not decreased. SOLUTION: A radio relay amplifier 1A is provided with a comparator 10 that compares a comparison output of a comparator 8 with an excess input reference voltage Vrefu and provides an output of a pulse discrimination signal in the case that the comparison output is larger than the excess input reference voltage Vrefu and a peak hold circuit 11 that holds tentatively a pulse discrimination signal of the comparator 10 and a high frequency switch/attenuator 13 that attenuates an input signal power by a prescribed level with an output of a comparator 12 when an output of the peak hold circuit 11 is more than a lower limit threshold voltage VL.
