DOWN PIPE BRACE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a down pipe brace which, although a fitted part can be surely secured to a fitting shank, allows the fitted part to be easily removed from the fitting shank. SOLUTION: A down pipe brace includes a fixed bracket 1 going along approximately half the circumference of a downspout and a movable bracket 2 going along approximately the remaining half of the circumference of the down bracket 2. One end of the fixed hook 1 is freely rotationally connected to one end of the movable bracket 2, and a fitted part 4 of an approximately C-cross section at the other end of the movable bracket 2 is freely removably fitted over a fitting shank 3 provided at the other end of the fixed bracket 1. A locking projection 5 projected from the inner surface of the end of the approximately-C-cross-section fitted part 4 is freely removably locked in the locking recess 6 of the fitting shank 3. An escape space S through which the fitting shank 3 can escape is provided over the inner surface of the main part of the fitted part 4. With the downspout supported and the fitted part 4 fitted over the fitting shank 3, the movable hook 2 is pushed toward the fixed hook 1, allowing the fitting shank 3 to escape into the escape space S, thereby unlocking the locking projection 5 form the locking recess 6.
