Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound useful as a raw material for polymeric materials excellent in various physical properties such as moisture and heat resistances, etc., by reacting an epoxy compound with acrylic acid, etc. SOLUTION: A component represented by formula I (R is H or methyl; R and R are each H or a 1-4C alkyl), e.g. α,α'bis[4(3-acryloxy-2-hydroxy) phenyl]-α,α,α',α'tetramethyl-m-xylene. The compound represented by formula I is obtained by reacting an epoxy compound represented by formulas II with acrylic acid, etc., represented by formula III at a temperature within the range of usually 50-150 deg.C for about 1-8hr. A catalyst such as (C2 H5 )3 N or dimethylbutylamine is preferably used at the time of the reaction. |
