AUTOMOBILE FOR CELESTIAL OBSERVATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an automobile for celestial observation possible to observe a celestial body of low horizontal altitude by dividing a dome into a plurality of pieces, and making the respective divided dome pieces closable around dome outer positions as hinge parts. SOLUTION: Dome pieces 10A, 10B have hinge parts provided near both sides of a roof face 2 of the automobile. An opening side limit switch for detecting the opened state of the respective dome pieces 10A, 10B, and a closing side limit switch for detecting the closed state are provided on the automobile side, and the respective dome pieces 10A, 10B are opened/closed according to a sequence previously programmed in a sequencer. The dome pieces 10A, 10B are not opened/closed simultaneously but opened/closed one by one in regular order. Since the dome pieces 10A, 10B can be opened being sprung up outside of the whole width of the automobile, notching exists to obstruct around an opening H at the time of opening a dome, so that parting line height of the dome can be set low.
