METAL STRIP THREADING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To thread the tip end of a metal strip up to a tension reel by normally inching the metal strip or inversely inching if necessary without generating breakage or the like of a thread guide even though deformation generates in the tip end of the threading metal strip. SOLUTION: The tip end 1a of the steel strip 1 is passed from the left side, passed the passage guide 14 and coiled around a tension reel 11. The thread guide 14 is descended in accordance with either normal inching or inverse inching of the tip end 1a or either the ascending or descending state of an upper pinch roll 12. Even when the tip end 1a deformed in the downward camber caused by the failure of coiling is inversely inched, since the thread guide 14 is descended, the deformed tip end 1a is not caught on the thread guide 14.
