MICROBE CONTROL AND SCALE ADHESION PREVENTING METHOD FOR HUMIDIFIER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control microbe stably over a long period of time and prevent scale adhesion by adding amorphous substance composed of SiO2 , Na2 O, B2 O2 and Ag2 O to water in a humidifier. SOLUTION: An ultrasonic humidifier atomizes water in an atomizing water storage tank 1 by the operation of an ultrasonic transmitter, and emitted from a spray port 2. Water equivalent to the quantity of the emitted water is supplied from a water supply tank 3 to the atomizing water storage tank 1, so that a fixed quantity of water is always secured in the atomizing storage tank 1. At this time, amorphous substance composed of Si2 , Na2 O, B2 O2 and Ag2 O is added to the water in the water supply tank 3. This amorphous substance has Ag ions in the amorphous state, and shows controlled release property of gradually emitting Ag ions over a long period of time, so that microbe control action is exhibited by the Ag ions over a long period of time. Further the amorphous substance is effective for preventing scale adhesion.
