Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which can prevent the contamination of an underwater cutting environment and can easily recover even solid products of large particle diameter that do not float in the water and an underwater cutting device which can smoothly carry out the underwater cutting method. SOLUTION: A spot of an object 1 to be cut is surrounded by openable and closable boxes 6 and 8 and is cut in the water by a cutting means. A product generated at the moment is removed from the cut spot by a pressurized water jet from a nozzle 9 for supplying a pressurized water jet, and the removed product is recovered by being sucked together with the water in the boxes 6 and 8. A solid product which does not float in the water out of the products generated in the underwater cutting is recovered by being detained in a detention section placed midway on a suction recovery route.
