USER INTERFACE DEVICE FOR CANDIDATE SELECTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an unintended candidate from being selected by mistake by limiting selectable candidates and easily selecting the target candidate even when there are many selected candidates. SOLUTION: When an indicating means 104 for candidate selection selects a candidate, a choice deciding means 105 decides the choice of the candidate according to the choice and the selectability determined by a selectability determining means 102. In this case, when the need to select one of selected candidates arises, the user indicates candidate limitation by using a candidate limitation indicating means 101. Then the selectability determining means 102 determines the selectability of each selected candidate, i.e., whether it can be selected or not according to the candidate limitation information indicated by the candidate limitation indicating means 101. According to the selectability determined by the selectability determining means 102, a candidate display means 103, for example, emphasizes and displays the respective candidates on a screen.
