Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the erosion of a brick even in the case of using a inexpensive MgO-C brick and to product a high quality extra-low carbon stainless steel by using the MgO-C brick in the range contacting with slag in a ladle and executing ladle-refining of the Cr-containing molten steel to a specific C level while containing a specific content of MgO in the slag. SOLUTION: The decarburize-refining of the Cr-containing molten steel is executed to the target of [C] =4%, particularly about 4-8%. By this method, even in the case of executing decarburize-refining of the Cr-containing molten steel at high temp., the erosion of the MgO-C brick is prevented and elution of MgO is restrained and the development of defect in the product is prevented and defective decarburization, etc., can not be developed.
