Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid electrolyte fuel cell of cylindrical cell type which can preclude cells from breakage by reducing the restraining force detrimental for the cells. SOLUTION: A solid electotlyte fuel cell 1 of cylindrical cell type is equipped with an assembly 2 of a plurality of cylindrical cells 7. A first current collecting plate 5a and a second current collecting plate 5b are installed opposingly with the cell gathering 2 pinched. A hanging bar 6 is set over between these plates, and the cells 7 are hung down at the bar 6. Because the cells 7 are designed as hung down, the movement of the cells 7 in association with deformation generated at thermal expansion becomes smooth, and a bending moment, frictional resistance, etc., detrimental to the cells 7 will no more act, so that the cells 7 can be prevented from breakage and the reliability of the resultant fuel cell 1 can be enhanced.
