Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly increase the speed of the production line of coated optical fiber. SOLUTION: The speed of production line of coated optical fiber can be greatly increased by adopting the divided lamp system for curing the coated optical fiber 21. The glass fiber is coated with a protecting coat layer, partially cured by exposure to the first electromagnetic radiation line source, then the partially cured layer is cooled and the coated layer is exposed to the second electromagnetic radiation line source. The curing station 30 is divided into plural steps and the cooling steps 35 are provided between individual curing stations. Thus, the partially cured optical fiber is cooled and the line-drawing speed of the optical fiber can be increased thereby largely increase the line speed of the coated optical fiber production as a result.
