Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the spheoroidizing agent for nodular graphite cast iron, and the spheroidizing method favorable to the fluidity of the molten metal after spheroidization, reduction in chilling, and reduction in shrinkage quantity. SOLUTION: The spheroidizing agent has the composition consisting of, by weight, 40-50% silicon, 4-5% magnesium, 0.5-1.5% calcium, 1-3% aluminum, 0.5-1.5% rare earth, 0.2-1.0% zirconium, 0.5-3% carbon, and the balance substantially iron with inevitable impurities. In particular, the agent is suitable for the molten metal in the range of 5-9ppm in active oxygen.
