INSULATING COATING MATERIAL AND INSULATED WIRE BY USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an insulating coating material low in impurity content, stable in quality, easy in viscosity control when used, capable of manifesting excellent production efficiency and useful for production, etc., of an insulated wire excellent in abrasion resistance and high temperature durability by mixing a metal alkoxide with a binder. SOLUTION: This insulating coating material comprises (A) a metal alkoxide, concretely, the metal alkoxide obtained by reacting a metal (oxide) suitable for a ceramic insulator with a lower alcohol, (B) a binder of an organic metal polymer (e.g. methylphenylsilicone, polyborosilixane and polytitanocarbosilane). The coating material is obtained by dissolving the component A in an organic solvent such as an alcohol, benzene and xylene to provide a solution and mixing the obtained solution with the liquid component B to provide a homogeneous liquid.
