PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform car washing fit for a car body by respectively detecting an automobile shape, a position on a moving device of rollers which press wheels and are arranged in a plurality at prescribed intervals and an interval between front and rear wheels at the entrance of a device main body, and controlling the device by correcting a car shape with these as a reference simultaneously when a succeeding roller starts to press rear wheels. SOLUTION: An automobile A enters the entrance of a car washing device main body 1 after an acceptance procedure, and a car shape is detected by a photoelectric switch. Control of washing and drying is performed according to a detected and stored car shape with a position of a roller 11a as a reference. When the roller 11a to press front wheels TF of the automobile A reaches a tail end position P3 of a conveyor 2, a press of the front wheels TF is released, and the automobile A temporarily stops, and a position P4 where a succeeding roller 11f starts to press rear wheels TR in a position to separate by a wheel base WB from the P3, is found, and the roller 11f existing in P5 behind by L from the P3 resumes a carry by pressing the rear wheels TR by reaching P4, and effective car washing can be performed since work is continued by correcting a reference car shape of the roller 11a and an interval L-WB between P4 and P5.
