Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiple lamp type light source device in which, when lamps are switched from one to the other, the position of the lamp can be surely set in a predetermined position on an optical axis. SOLUTION: Two lamps 13A, 13B to which lamp lighting power can be supplied from a lamp lighting circuit 21 are mounted on a moving plate 12 moved by a motor 14, and limit switches 17A, 17B are provided which detect positions to make sure that the lamps 13A, 13B have been set on an optical axis 16. A controller 19, when moving one of the lamps via the motor 14 to set it in a predetermined position on the optical axis 16, samples a position detection signal 18A or 18B produced by the limit switches 17A, 17B, in such a way as to delay the signal by means of a delay circuit 34, thereby performing an error correction by which, after the position has been detected by the limit switches 17A, 17B, the lamp is moved to a position where its lever does not move, and thus setting the lamp in a predetermined correct position.
