CURL CORRECTING DEVICE FOR IMAGE FORMING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for the well-balanced curl correction of a whole fixed sheet which is irregularly curled upward or downward. SOLUTION: Hard and soft rollers 21, 22 are put in mutual press contact, a curl correcting device 20 with an upward curl correcting part A and a downward curl correcting part B is arranged on the downstream side of a fixing device 10 and a control means 25 is provided to feed a fixed sheet to the upward curl correcting part A in accordance with detection information for upward curl or feed the fixed sheet to the downward curl correcting part B in accordance with detection information for downward curl. The elastic deformation of the soft roller 22 is adjusted in accordance with detection information for the degree of curl. The end of a sheet separating pawl 27 for a fixing roller 19 at the lower side of the fixing device 10 is arranged near a nip point (b) between a pair of fixing rollers 18, 19 to float the rear end of the fixed sheet separated from the nip point (b) from the surface of the fixing roller 19.
