Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flux compsn. and cream solder which have high activity, good solubility in a flux and have lowered hygroscopicity by incorporating a rosin derivative having primary carboxyl groups and a flux having the solubility in water of a specific value or below at room temp. into the compsn. and solder. SOLUTION: The rosin deriv. having the primary carboxyl groups is obtd. by a method, etc., of bringing known rosins or their derivatives and a primary carboxyl group-contg. hydroxy compd., more preferably glycolic acid into esterification reaction. Any fluxes which have the low hygroscopicity of =150 deg.C is preferable. The flux described above is preferably incorporated into the flux compsn. at >=50wt.% of the entire part of the flux.
