Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a specific configuration of a 4 cycle engine capable of realizing a volume ratio of 0.15 to 0.45. SOLUTION: A 4 cycle engine is provided with an air intake path interconnected to a combustion chamber, an air intake valve 11 which opens and closes an air intake valve opening 6b to open the air intake path to the combustion chamber, and a throttle valve 22 provided in midway to the air intake path. In this case, a fuel injection valve 28 is arranged on the upstream side from the throttle valve 22 in the air intake path, and the ratio of the volume (port volume) from the air intake opening port of the air intake path to the throttle valve 22 to the stroke volume (displacement for each cylinder) is set at 0.15 to 0.45.
