Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical battery which can prevent generation of internal short-circuit, when the force of moving in the direction of a sealing member is applied to a group of spiral type electrodes by dropping or the like. SOLUTION: This cylindrical battery is provided with a group 5 of electrodes, which are accommodated in a bottomed cylindrical container 1 and are formed by winding in a spiral shape through a separator 3 between one electrode 2 and the other electrode 4, a sealing member 7, which is crimped through an isolating gasket 6 in the container 1 and serves as one pole terminal, a band- shaped tab 13 whose one end is connected to one electrode 2 of the group 5 of electrodes and whose other end is connected to the sealing member 7. The isolating gasket 6 is of bottomed cylindrical shape, and a cutout part 6a is provided for an area facing the band-shaped tab 3 in the bottom part and an area facing the winding terminal part of one pole 2 and/or the other pole 4, respectively.
