HYBRID TYPE MAGNETIC HEAD SLIDER AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide manufacture of a magnetic head slider without damaging a core part at the time of being in contact with a magnetic recording medium and assembling it. SOLUTION: In the magnetic head slider provided with housings 2, 3 constituted of a non-magnetic body and having floating force generating rail parts 5, 6, 7, 8 opposite to the magnetic recording medium and a core part 9 reading/ writing the data provided on the rail parts, this slider is a hybrid type magnetic head slider constituted of dividing the housing to two parts, and arranging the core part 9 between the parts connecting them and arranging its gap part 10 on the nearly same surface as the surface of the rail parts, and this slider is manufactured so that after a core piece constituting the core part 9 is stuck to the side surface of one side housing, the vicinity of the gap part 10 of the core piece is ground, and the width of the core part 9 is adjusted to the width of the track part of the magnetic recording medium, and after the adjustment process of the width of the core part 9 is ended, one side housing is joined to the other side housing holding the core part 9 between them.
