METHOD OF FORMING JOINTS IN INNER LINING WORK WITH CASTABLE REFRACTORY AT BOTTOM PART OF FURNACE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable joints (clearances) acting as margins for accommodating a thermal expansion to be formed by a simple work by a method wherein the bottom part of a furnace for steel making or the like is lined with castable refractory. SOLUTION: A joint forming material is constituted by a pair of heating state extinguishing plates 1 arranged in a desired spacing and a hard reinforcing material 2 inserted from above into the clearance between both heating state extinguishing plates 1. Joint forming material is fixed at a predetermined position in the furnace, castable refractory material C is flowed under this state. After the castable refractory C is solidified, the hard reinforcing material 2 is pulled out. When the furnace is operated, the heating state discriminating plates 1 are burned lost or molten lost under a pre-heating operation, thereby the joints for use in accommodating for the thermal expansion of the inner lining layer are formed.
