Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a cooling device by adding water to the ash to make wet ash, mixing the wet ash in the pyrolysis residue from a discharge device, and feeding it to the cooling device to cool the water content in the wet ash making use of the latent heat of vaporization. SOLUTION: A part of the waste gas is fed into a body part 9 of a cooling device 6 as the inert gas from a line L3, the low oxygen atmosphere is formed inside, the wet ash (d) is fed to an inlet chute 11 from a line L5 through a double gate valve 23 as a seal mechanism, and the wet ash (d) is mixed with the pyrolysis residue (c) passing through the inlet chute 11. The pyrolysis residue (c) is cooled to about 80 deg.C by the latent heat of vaporization of the water content in the wet ash (d) and the cooling water W1 to be fed from the cooling water line L4 and sprayed against the outer surface of the body 9 in the cooling device 6. The pyrolysis residue is cooled making use of the latent heat of vaporization of the water content in the wet ash (d), and as a result, the cooling device 6 can be miniaturized.
