Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase resistance to poisoning by a sulfur in waste gas of an internal combustion engine by forming a NOx trap from a specified wt.% platinum and sodium. potassium or their mixture with a significantly many sodium or potassium incorporated more than conventional amount. SOLUTION: The NOx trap for the waste gas of the internal combustion engine is constituted by incorporating a porous supporting body impregnated with an alkali metal selected among sodium, potassium and their mixture and platinum. A thin coated film such as alumina is applied on a substrate, and after drying and burning the film, each catalyst of sodium or potassium and platinum is stuck and charged by an impregnating method, etc., on the coated film by at least 30wt.% alkali metal and 0.2-4wt.% platinum to porous supporting body weight, and the NOx trap is obtained by drying and burning the material in air. In such a way, the poisoning due to the sulfur is markedly overcome, and a NOx capturing efficiency of this catalyst is maintained. |
