Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sunscreen cosmetic, causing no unnatural finishing, such as unnatural whiteness, excellent in feeling of use and exhibiting excellent effect of shielding ultraviolet rays. SOLUTION: This cosmetic is compounded with (A) fine, spindle-shaped particles of titanium oxide having an average minor diameter of 0.03 to 0.06μm, average major diameter of 0.08 to 0.12μm and aspect ratio (major/minor diameter ratio) of 2 to 4, and (B) an organic, modified clay mineral obtained by treating a water-swellable clay mineral with a quaternary ammonium salt type cationic surface active agent and nonionic surface active agent.
