Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machining method capable of forming a micro hole of high precision through a workpiece having an insulating ceramic coat. SOLUTION: In this machining method for a workpiece having an insulating ceramic coat, a conductor 2 is laid on the surface of a workpiece 11 having an insulating ceramic coat 1, and subjected to an electric discharge machining process with a machining fluid fed, thereby forming a through-hole. Subsequently an electric discharge machining process applies to the insulating ceramic coat 1, using a conductor layer 4 formed as a result of the adhesion, deposition and impregnation of a machining layer generated due to the aforesaid electric discharge machining process. In this case, a carbon sheet 5 is laid between the coat 1 and the conductor 2, and the feed amount of the machining fluid is reduced immediately before the start of the electric discharge machining process for the coat 1. |
