DISK CARTRIDGE AND DISK DEVICE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably hold a disk cartridge to a tray without spoiling the appearance of the disk cartridge and also without excessively enlarging the tray. SOLUTION: A case 201 of the cartridge is provided with notched recesses (gripper slots) 206a, 207a on the side surface parts 206, 207, and recesses 206b, 207b for holding the cartridge are provided on these notched recesses 206a, 207a. When the cartridge 200 is mounted on the tray of a disk device, pawls for holding arranged on a cartridge placing part for the tray are made to restrain to the recesses 206b, 207b, thereby the cartridge 200 is stably held to the tray. The pawls for holding the cartridge are arranged so as not to extend out from the notched recesses 206a, 207a when looking from the upper surface, then the tray is prevented from being excessively enlarged.
