APPARATUS FOR FIXING STEERING WHEEL FOR TESTING VEHICLE TRAVEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely restrain a steering wheel from rotating, by holding the steering wheel by a pair of steering wheel-holding bodies, and butting ends of a pair of leg members by a leg length-adjusting means to an upper face of a dashboard. SOLUTION: A clamping means 7 is loosened by a steering wheel-fixing head member 2, thereby opening a gap between a base plate 5 and a rotary plate 8. Steering wheel-holding bodies 9, 10 are set to an upper curve part of a steering wheel H. Then, the means 7 is clamped, thereby holding and fixing the steering wheel H from both faces of the wheel by the holding bodies 9, 10. Thereafter, a vertical movement adjusting coupling means 17 and a back and forth shift adjusting means 24 are adjusted and fixedly set, a distance between a pair of leg members is set and fixed by a distance-setting means, and finally a length of a leg body 27 is increased by a vertical movement adjusting knob 32 of a leg length-adjusting means. A universal foot 34 of the leg body 27 is pressed to an upper face Da of a board D and fixed by the vertical movement adjusting knob 32. A device 1 is set between the steering wheel H and upper face Da of the board in this manner, thereby fixing the steering wheel H.
