This compound can be synthesized by reacting 1-chloroanthraquinone with isobutylamine or 2-aminopentane in an inert solvent, reacting the obtained aminoanthraquinone with bromine to form 1-isobutylamino-4-bromoanthraquinone or 1-(1'-methylbutyl)amino-4-bromoanthraquinone and reacting each with an aniline and a deoxygenating agent in the presence of a copper catalyst.
