ANTIHYPERTENSIVE MEDICINE CONTAINING SUBSTITUTED THIAZOLIDINEDIONE DERIVATIVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antihypertensive medicine effective for treating and preventing hypertensive patients by including a specific substituted thiazolidinedione derivative. SOLUTION: This antihypertensive medicine contains a compound of the formula [A is a (substituted) aromatic heterocyclic group; R is H, an alkyl, an acyl, an aralkyl, etc.; R , R are each H, or R , R are bound to each other to form a bond; A is a benzene ring having totally five or less substituents; (n) is 2-6], its tautomer, its pharmaceutically acceptable salt or its pharmaceutically acceptable solvate, e.g. 5-(4-[2-(N-methyl-N-(2-benzothiazolyl) amino]ethoxy]benzyl)-2,4-thiazolidinedione. The compound of the formula is obtained by subjecting 5-(4-[2-N-methyl-N-(2-benzothiazolyl) amino]ethoxyl]benzylidene)-2,4-thiazolidinedione to a hydrogenation reaction in the presence of palladium in 1,4-dioxane, etc.
