Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for largely reducing content of fine powder of drying rubber in addition to the production of EP(D)M rubber substantially without color, in continuous dehydrating and drying of the EP(D)M rubber. SOLUTION: Wet EPDM crumb is continuously supplied to a uniaxial screw extruder having specific structural features. And, its wet crumb is passed under sufficient conditions to heat the crumb by urging water in the extruder and increasing a differential pressure before and after a die plate of the extruder. Rubber extruded and dried by this method contains less than 1% of water content. The extruder adapted to this method has an inlet, i.e., supply end, an expeller having cage bars, an expander disposed adjacent to the expeller and having a shell casing cover, a die plate and a screw having groves at a predetermined pitch and preferably gradually reducing depth.
