HYDROGENATION REFINING AND HYDROCRACKING CATALYST CONTAINING MIXED SULFIDE CONTAINING SULFUR, AT LEAST ONE KIND OF GROUP VB ELEMENT AND AT LEAST ONE KIND OF GROUP VIB ELEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the efficiency of refining by using a catalyst for hydrogena tion refining and/or hydrocracking of charged hydrocarbon stock contg. a mixed sulfide contg. sulfur and groups VB and VIB elements of the Periodic Table. SOLUTION: This catalyst for hydrogenation refining of charged hydrocarbon stock such as a sulfur-contg. petroleum fraction contains a mixed sulfide contg. sulfur, at least one kind of group VB element of the Periodic Table such as Ta, Nb or V, preferably V and at lest one kind of group VIB element of the Periodic Table such as Cr, Mo or W, preferably Mo or further contains a group VIII element, a carrier, preferably a porous alumina matrix, an element selected from among P, B and Si, and a group VIIA element, preferably F.
