BAG SEALING DEVICE AND BAG SEALING METHOD USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bag sealing device which can surely heat-seal a bag after folding a gusset so that wrinkles, etc., may not generate. SOLUTION: A square cylindrical bag 1, the leading end (1a) of which is sealed, and the rear end of which is open, and in which an article 2 to be packaged is housed, is carried to an end sealing part 3 from the upstream side to the downstream side, and confronted both side surfaces of the bag 1 at an area where the packaged article 2 is not housed, are gusset-folded by respectively bending inward with an intermediate part in the width direction as the bending base, and then, the rear end of the bag 1 is heat-sealed by a seal bar 11 by this bag sealing device. For such a bag sealing device, before the confronted both side surfaces of the bag 1 are gusset-folded, the top and the bottom surfaces (1h), (1i) of the area where the packaged article 2 is not housed, of the bag 1, are drawn and held by first suction means 5, 6 respectively, and at the same time, both side surfaces of the bag 1 are drawn and held by second suction means respectively.
