Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject compound useful as a synthetic intermediate for a depsipeptide derivative having excellent parasiticidal activity as an anthelmintic for animal and man. SOLUTION: The objective compound is expressed by the formula I (R2 is carboxyl, etc.; R4 is a monoalkylamino, etc.; R5 is an amino-protecting group; R6 is H or an alkyl). The compound can be produced from L-phenylalanine as a starting raw material by converting the raw material into a compound of the formula II, reacting the compound with a compound of the formula R1 SO2 X (R1 is an alkyl or an aryl; X is a halogen or OSO2 R; R3 is an alkyl or an aryl) and reacting the resultant compound of the formula III with a compound of the formula IV in the presence of a base.
