Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record a high picture quality color image by making the graininess of smallest dots indistinct formed on a recording paper and forming a color image of high sharpenss by eliminating white voids of image shadow sections in a color ink jet recording method for recording by using aqueous ink. SOLUTION: Recording is carried out by making small droplets of water-soluble inks of colors of at least yellow, magenta and cyanogen adhered on a recording paper with an ink absorption layer on a non-water-absorbent substrate and forming dots in a recording method. In that case, a recording paper is provided with space layers containing a hydrophilic binder and secondary particles of average particle diameter of 30-200nm formed on the substrate, and the ratio D1/R of the total diameter D1 formed the recording paper to the diameter R of small droplets when the small droplets are discharged along is set in the range of 1.8-2.2.
