PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To well transfer an overcoat layer at the writing start part of the overcoat layer and at the edge part corresponding to the lateral end edge of recording paper. SOLUTION: This recording apparatus is constituted so that heat energy larger than the usual heat energy applied to the overcoat layer covering recording paper 18 in a printing final stage is applied to a thermal head with respect to the writing start part 92a of the overcoat layer. The heat energy at this time is set so as to allow the temp. of a heating element to be capable of reaching the temp. fitted to the transfer of the overcoat layer in the number of short drawing lines without bonding the remaining of a film after the.transfer of the overcoat layer to recording paper. Further, heat energy larger than usual one is applied to the thermal head even with respect to the edge part of the overcoat layer corresponding to the vicinity of the lateral end edge of recording paper.
