IMPROVER FOR LIPID IN BLOOD AND FOOD ADDITIVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a medicine capable of improving lipids in blood by lowering actions on total cholesterol in blood and neutral lipids and increasing actions on a high-density lipoprotein cholesterol by including a phospholipid containing a specific constituent fatty acid as an active ingredient therein. SOLUTION: This improver for lipids in blood comprises a phospholipid containing docosahexaenoic acid (hereinafter abbreviated to DHA) as a constituent fatty acid as an active ingredient. A phospholipid containing >=10% phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylglycerol and/or phosphatidylserine is preferred as the phospholipid and the content of the DHA is preferably >=5%, more preferably >=15% and more effectively 30%. Thereby, the objective agent and a food additive capable of manifesting more improved actions on an improvement in lipids in blood causing vascular diseases such as arteriosclerosis can be obtained.
