ROUTE DISPLAY, NAVIGATION DEVICE, AND STORAGE MEDIUM FOR COMPUTER PROGRAMS USED FOR ROUTE DISPLAY PROCESS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promptly provide much geographic information, by dividing a screen on which a map is displayed and displaying maps with various contents simultaneously. SOLUTION: A route to a destination or a dropping-in position is searched. If it is detected that the present position is not on the searched route, a return route for returning from the present position to return position which leads to detected route, the destination or the dropping-in position is searched (step SR 4). A screen of a display for showing map information is divided into more than one window, the searched return route is displayed on at least one window (step SR 10), and the original route is displayed on a rest window (step SR 14). The scale for each divided window is the same as that for the original screen. In addition, the deviation route from the present position to the point where the present route deviates from the searched route is displayed.
